WHAT IS CAMPKOSKI, LLC?

• CampKoski is a Certified Youth Camp (CYC) in Baltimore County for children diagnosed with Autism and related disorders. 

• We are a summer daycamp, in a safe and relaxing rural setting.

• For children 6-12 years old, we provide four 1-week sessions running Monday through Friday.

• The camp days are each 5 hours long ... We coordinate our times with BCPS's extended year (summer school) hours.  This way, children can attend both!

• EACH camper is assigned his or her own 1:1 trained "Teen Buddy" for the entire week!  It is "magical" to watch as each counselor becomes a special friend to their camper.  Our counselors are the first to admit that this experience has equally changed their lives as well.  Several have decided to pursue careers in the special education field after being "Teen Buddies" at CampKoski!

• Daily activities include: Lead-line pony/horse rides, Nature walks, Hayrides, Kayak rides, Pond fishing/netting, Computer activities, Painting, Scavenger hunts, Nature lessons under the new pavilion, Music and movement games, Sensory integration activities, Goat feeding and brushing, and so much more!!!

• Communication, social, motor, and sensory skills are facilitated during each activity.  Each teen buddy is advised by the Camp Director ( a Speech-Language Pathologist) what their camper's strengths and weaknesses are (per parent report on registration form).   

• Our trained staff and volunteers include: a Speech-Language Pathologist, a Registered Nurse, Certified Lifeguards, Experienced Horse Leaders, and 1:1 Trained Counselors (aka: "Teen Buddies").

• Guest presenters have included: Musicians, Artists, Tae Kwon Do Blackbelts, Massage Therapists, Yoga Instructors, Jump Ropers, Wrestlers, Fire Fighters, Police Officers, Paramedics, Mail Carriers, Alpacas, Therapy Dogs, Pigmy Pigs, and Hawks, Doves, and Parrots.

• Our Sensory Barn provides fun-out-of-the-sun, where campers can enjoy therapy swings, net swings, hammocks, and other hands-on sensory activities.
